Bikinis That are Helping to Save the Planet
Our swimsuits are ethically made in New York City, using sustainable Italian fabric. Our luxe fabric is made of ECONYL®, a regenerated Nylon created from oceans and landfills around the world. Our mission is to create swimsuits that bring you confidence, comfort, style and quality for a go-to suit that lasts season after season. Plus, there’s nothing better than swimming in an ocean your bikini helped preserve!
Most of the environmental impacts that occur when manufacturing nylon thread result from the production of raw materials. Instead of being disposed of into landfills, the ECONYL® Regeneration System allows fishing nets, industrial plastic and other discarded nylons to be recovered and regenerated after reaching the end of their useful life. That waste is then sorted and cleaned to recover all of the nylon possible. It then goes through a radical regeneration and purification process where the nylon waste is recycled back to its original purity; it has the same features as virgin nylon in terms of performance and quality!
- 8 million tons of waste end up in our seas every single year
- 1.28 billion pounds of fishing gear left in the ocean each year (many fishermen use nylon plastic nets)
- More than 650,000 marine animals are killed or injured in fishing nets each year
- Unless the situation changes, by 2050 our seas may contain more garbage than fish
